Rover Tab Parent in First Round

Iqaluit, NU (CP)

The Rovers got defensive and added to their already impressive stable of blueline prospects by selecting Ryan Parent of the Guelph Storm with their first round pick, 23rd overall. "We feel very good about Ryan and his ability to contribute to the Rovers in the near future", GM Stringer said of the pick. "With Phaneuf, Liles, and Michalek, Ryan continues to increase our depth at a key position". The Rovers currently have two selections in the second round and four in the third round.

Congrats on nabbing him. It was nice to have him for a whole 25 minutes :)

If it's any consolation, it was much nicer to have had Bergfors (the guy I really wanted) for 25 mins as well...

That's gotta hurt a bit. I had Bergfors penciled in with my 13 pick up until about 2 minutes before I sent my email out, when I went with the heart and Latrendresse. I was very surprised to see him originally fall as far as he did.
