Four Rovers contend for All-Star starter

The league's annual All-Star ballot was released yesterday, with the format of Champions vs Premier conference returning from last season. Four Rovers are listed among the nominees. Newcomer Mark Recchi is on the ticket for Right Wing and is the only Rover forward on the ballot. Standout defensemen Chris Pronger and Kim Johnsson are vying for the same starting job at Right Defense, while Martin Gerber is a starting candidate in goal. Starters will be announced on March 12th, with coaches selections rounding out the roster after that. Rovers coach Stringer is suspected to be part of the Champions coaching staff. Best of luck to all Rovers.

Notes: - Danny Markov's first practice with the Rovers saw him practice alongside Chris Pronger during defensive drills. "Chris is an amazing player, and you don't fully appreciate him until you line up with him. I can't wait to play here", Markov said after the spirited practice. Markov is also expected to see time on the penalty-killing units. The Rovers entertain Markov's former team, the Roadkill, tonight.
